For startres you have to use *something* to make the shortcuts. I
believe FileXtra3 (which ships with Dir8+ free) lets you do that, and
I know Buddy API does.
But what is more important is that your programs should *never*,
under *any circumstances*, modify a user's system without telling
them first.
That is how viruses behave. But more importantlyu than that, it is
rude. Any program which silently alters my system without telling me
what it's going to do and letting me tell it to go ahead (or stop) is
going to find itself immediately *deleted* from my system.
And I'm reasonably sure I am not the only user to feel that way.
I'm not sure how you can best tell your client this, but he's wrong
in his request.
