Its hardly fair to compare a Rage (old card not designed for 3d) card to the
Geforce 2 Go (newer card with 3d in mind). I'd say that sounds about right
for both of them. All my findings on the topic are in general the PC has
better 3d performance even with the same cards, whether talking about for
creation (Lightwave 3d, ect) or running games. For example the new Dual
1ghz with the Geforce 4 mx gets 115 fps in Quake 3 (multi-threaded game) and
my single 1.2 ghz Athlon with Geforce 3 gets 130+ with the same settings.
I've seen in a lot of reviews that for some reason the processors in the
Macs bottle neck the whole thing, at least this was the case with the 500mhz
G4's/Geforce 2 MX combo's.

Anyway...I just tested it with my Dual Athlon 1800+/Radeon 8500 combo and I
get 55 fps in software mode and 200 fps in hardware and on my Single 1.2ghz
Athlon MP/Geforce 3 I get 40 fps and 170 fps.
