I'm interpreting the question as meaning sprite animation paths. Grab a high school maths text book and study up on parabolic curves, sines, cosines and possibly calculus if you really wanna be a clever dick. Then get into the Lingo dictionary and look into loc, locH, locV and remember that the higher up on the screen a sprite is, the lower is its locV. As far as getting a sprite to follow a curve (like a motion guide in Flash), that's something I've wondered about, but never bothered trying.
