I have no problem using mpeg in Director or playing it at different PCs.
With Mac it is a bit more troublesome.
Mpeg1 and 4 gives excelent pictures and movement, much better than most of
the quick time-codecs. Sorenson is OK for streaming, and Sorenson Pro is
excellent (but expensive) - the best quick time codec.
Notice, that the discussion about video codecs in Director depends on
the intention - are we producing for the net og for CD-rom?
For the net - there is no specific advantages between different codecs - it
all depends on the users modem. 56 k is still the most used all over the
world!
