I'm writing a calendar thing in Director. I want the user to be able to
type appointments into text fields, save them out to a text file so next
time the CD is inserted it imports everything they've typed previously.

Being the loser that I am, I could do it by creating 30 (or so) text boxes
for each month and writing them out to text files and then importing the
data next time the CD is inserted--that seems a little ridiculous. I was
trying to do it with a flash sprite containing all the text fields so I
would just be dealing with one sprite in director and using setVariable and
getVariable to populate the fields, but I'm having some trouble getting my
head around that.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, code, or examples I would appreciate it
immensely. Four days till deadline and I just came down with a case of
food-poisoning--what a way to start the week.

    thanks,

        kyle
