morning everyone,

problem solved: it really was a matter of the quicktime movie not yet being
on the stage when i was trying to execute my code. updateStage vs. go to the
frame dont't make any difference now that i'm placing my quicktimg movie
somewhere off the stage a bunch of lines of code before i want to scale it.
essentially, it's still triggered by on startMovie (via a few self-defined
handlers), but this way there's some time for it to get ready before it is
scaled.
