Have you tried pausing the movie? Setting its movieRate to 0?
Unloading a member *before* you leave the frame in which it is being
displayed, by the way, will fail. Director is still displaying it;
there's no way it's going to unload it. ;)
Your boss might have to get used to less than optimal playback on all
possible systems. That is a fact of life in programming and personal
feelings on the subject won't change it. If he has a problem with
that, I suggest he contact Microsoft and tell Bill Gates to get his
head out of his rectum and write ONE *decent* OS for a change instead
of a half-dozen shoddy ones.
That or go Mac.
