Hullo all--
I think I've found another bug in the Flash Asset Xtra for D 8.5 Mac.
Before I post it, tell me if it's a bug or expected behavior.
I have some Flash sprites on screen. When you click them, they send a
message back to Director with getURL("event:flashAnimDone", _parent).
That calls a handler in my Lingo code.
On the Mac, that makes the screen freeze until the Lingo is finished
executing. I can't do anything on the screen--dialog boxes don't show,
MIAWs don't show, sprites I move onstage with Lingo don't show.
UpdateStage has no effect.
This is just Mac--Windows works fine. It sounds to me like the Flash
Asset Xtra is eating system events during a getURL call.
I think it's a bug because it means you can't show a progress bar or a
"please wait" screen.
Votes? Bug? Deal with it? (Actually, I've already dealt with it by
converting the sprites to bitmapped sprites, but I'd still appreciate
opinions.
Cordially,
Kerry Thompson
