Hi,
I would like to create a volume control slider, so that the user would be able to adjust the volume of the sound from zero to the maximum volume. I searched through the archives of Direct-L and Lingo-l and discovered this: The postings indicate that I need a Direct Media Control Xtra Volume Slider which costs US$200. But I would like to consider other options first. On going through the Director Online articles, I discovered this article: Adjusting volume with a slider http://www.director-online.com/accessArticle.cfm?id=233 I am a little lost. Actually, I wanted to create a horizontal slider. This article shows a vertical one. So I substituted all the locV for locH , mouseV for mouseH and pSliderBottom for pSliderLeft in the code. Then there are these statements from the article: 'The only tricky part to this behavior stems from the fact that the the slider in my example goes from low to high, while the locV of the slider knob moves counter -- from high to low. This leads to some counter-intuitive math formulas. For example, for the tasks in the enterFrame handler to be executed, the mouseV must be less than the bottom of the slider trough and greater than the top of the trough. If you create a slider which is upside down, you'll need to change the signs in the formulas to accomodate.' If I understand correctly, as I would like to create a horizontal slider the left side is zero and the right side is the maximum volume. Yet it does not seem to work as it should. I can't change code this way? Then how do I go about it? Could you help please?
