Aha. Well, as long as you don't want to change the actual code, you 
can open the shockwave file as a MIAW, then save it our under a 
different name with save as. This will let you edit its contents. 
Note however that your code will be completely inaccessible.

It would really be best to be able to get the original Director movie 
back again, or perhaps to just rebuild. Unless you specifically 
designed your file for this kind of scalability to begin with, 
changing out cast members now is going to be rather difficult, if not 
outright impossible.
