I just ran into an oddity you might want to look out for. Mac G3
Powerbook, OS 9.1.

I downloaded the 8.5.1 XDK from the mothership--actually, I wanted to
get the carbonized stub projector that's in the XDK.

So I found the projector, named "Otto," in the xdk85_Mac:utility:MacOSX:
folder, and did a "get info" from the finder. I didn't launch it,
because I was running 9.1.

The next time I double-clicked on a Dir 8.5 file, it tried to open Otto
(and failed, of course). It looks like the way OSX apps communicate with
the desktop database caused all my 8.5 files to be associated with Otto,
just by doing a get info.

I moved it off-line and rebuilt the desktop, and everything is fine now.
Just something you might want to watch out for.

Cordially,

Kerry Thompson
