The HTML #text member routines were introduced with Dir7. However I 
get the feeling the HTML parser itself is based on W3C 1 or 2, which 
puts it ferociously out of date.

I don't know of such a resource, but if you can't get it to work in 
NS2, for instance, it almost surely will not work in Director. And, 
of course, #text members can't handle graphics.
