Yes, and I'm on Direct-L, 3DDirector-L, both the general and the Lingo newsgroups and when I'm feeling particularly generous I wander over to the Latin America newsgroups too. I am still employed and I simply won't work on any other team here at Macromedia (I love Director and our team), therefore yes, Director is still under development.
