I have just finished up a college level course on CD-ROM. One of the
last things I was asked to do was to create a set of "data analysis
tools" like a histogram, a pie chart, a scatterplot. I wound up
using Imaging Lingo for all these tools.
In another part of the program (the first title is a course on
Archaeology. In this one part of the course, students are presented
with a grid of squares that they can "dig". By clicking on each
square, they dig down a certain distance into the ground. My code
reads from a big database to find what artifacts have been found in
this square at this level. A little bit of Imaging Lingo allowed me
to plot the artifacts into the square at the appropriate coordinates.
The benefits of doing this are that the drawing is very fast and very
efficient.
