I'd explore either FileXtra3 or Buddy API for this. Either one should 
have the functionality you need to resolve aliases. 
GetNthFileNameInFolder just gets nodes, not their link targets (which 
is what you have with either a folder or an alias). That means 
basically the built in command gives you a list of names, not what 
those names represent. You'll need an Xtra with more system awareness, 
and that puts you in with BAPI or FX3.
