Andreas has pointed out some possibilities. He's really right--we need a 
lot more information to make an accurate analysis, so take the following as 
guesswork:

You parent script has a child that has handlers with the same name (that's 
pretty common in OOP). If so, you could have other parent scripts declaring 
your parent as an ancestor, and then its methods override the ancestor's 
methods of the same name. (I'll try to write that more confusingly if you 
like--I'm kinda proud of the obfuscation I eschewed eschewing ^_^ )

My money, though, is that you have the script declared as a behavior, not a 
parent.
