I too am looking for articles on this subject (and the broader subject of
multilingual issues) as I need to add multi-language support to my web
content management system soon. Any general pointers and pitfalls will do
for me, and if I can pass that information back in a more digestible form I
will try to do so :-)

I'm particularly concerned about international character set differences
too, especially given the lack of Unicode in Director at the moment. The
problem is amplified slightly by the fact that the same text is to be used
in Director and also exported for viewing on the web. It's not an area I
know much about, so I don't really know what to look out for.

I also need to find out about east-Asian character sets: I know there are
lots of different forms of Chinese, for instance, but I don't know which
forms are widely used, and how they are formatted, or what the character set
looks like.

I'm currently considering replacing all of Director's in-built UI components
with more flexible ones using imaging Lingo. This would probably help with
right-to-left text, but it's not going to help me with the broader issues of
character-set consistency, etc.

So, has anyone got much experience with this stuff? Any good references,
RFCs, etc., that I should look at? Anyone know where to get the appropriate
/fonts/?
