Assuming your folder is called "wav", then, you'd do this:
sound playFile ( 1, ( the moviePath & "wav" & the last char of the moviePath & "thefile.wav" ) )
...the part that reads 'the last char of the moviePath' is to ensure that you have the correct directory delimiter for the system that's running the program; on Win it's "\" but on Mac it's ":".
Another way to do it would be to use a UNC notation for the relative path:
sound playFile ( 1, "@/wav/theFile.wav" )
...which has the advantage of not needing special treatment for path delimiters. For more information consult the Lingo docs for 'the moviePath' and '@'.
