I haven't really had a chance to play with MUX properly yet, so I have no idea whether it is low-level enough to replicate the protocol, or if it will only work for a completely new P2P system based on MUS (probably). I wouldn't recommend anyone go down that route if they want to make something that will actually be a practical file-sharing client, since you'd only be able to share with other people running your application.
