Hello, The PegHole Xtras Team is happy to announce the availability of version 1.3 of the OSControl Xtra. This is a FREE update for registered users.
<http://www.peghole.com/xtras/osc_xtra/> What is the OSControl Xtra? The OSControl Xtra adds a couple of long awaited member types to Macromedia Director: boxes, dropdown lists/popup menus, contextual menus, scroll bars, push buttons, bevel buttons, progress bars, 'little arrow'-buttons, sliders, radio buttons and checkboxes. Unlike Director's built-in controls and Flash MX's UI Components, OSControls all are drawn in the OS appearance as set by the user. These controls are truly cross-platform: on a Macintosh they look and behave like real Macintosh controls, on a PC running Windows they look and behave like real Windows controls. And now in this new version we've added support for Mac OS X so on a Mac Os X system OSControl members look and behave like real Mac OS X controls. The OSControl Xtra is ideal for rapid prototyping, making 'real' looking cross platform applications, installers, settings MIAWs and many other Director projects. The OSControl Xtra will pay for itself almost immediately because of the valuable development time it will save. Even if you don't have a license of the OSControl Xtra you can still view and explore our free downloadable demo files. If you don't save them the OSControl cast members will stay intact. As with every version that includes new functionality we've increased our prices. But when you buy or upgrade your license before February 7, 2003 you will get the OSControl Xtra for the old price. You can also take advantage of the Xtra bundles we provide together with Integration New Media. They consists of the OSControl Xtra bundled with one or both the V12 Database Xtra and the PDF Xtra. A winning combination for all your cross-platform application development! <http://www.integrationnewmedia.com/products/v12director/bundles/oscontrol/> Auto-downloadable Shockwave versions are also available if you only want to take a peek at our examples in your browser: <http://www.peghole.com/xtras/osc_xtra/examples/> NEW FEATURES IN THIS VERSION - Mac OS X version - Changes in OSpopuMenu and OSmenu - Forward slash ("/") is no longer filtered. - Left parenthesis ("(") can be used in menus by supplying "((". - Asterisk ("*") can be used in menus by supplying "**". - Less-than sign ("<") can be used in menus by supplying "<<". - Exclamation mark can be used in menus by supplying "!!". - Circumflex accent ("^") is no longer filtered. - Simpler standard behaviors (we've removed the #call method) - Behaviors are now fully documented - In behaviors: an updateStage after every action is now optional and only needed if the frame rate is low. - Fixed bug where OSpushButton sprites that sprang from the same member and were in the same sprite channel could have wrong rects (Mac OS X) - Fixed bug where if you had the stage scrolled or zoomed beyond its original rect OSControl sprites will draw themselves at wrong locations (Mac OS X) - Improved and updated documentation - Fixed some bugs in the Demo movies. We hope you will like this version!
