Hi all, I'm sure this question has been around before.
One of our products is using external assets (pictures, audio, video, Flash) and links to them when opening the course. We are currently protecting them by encrypting the file, so that it cannot be reused by unlicensed parties. However, on larger files it has an impact on performance, and we're looking into other ways to achieve this. One theory I have in mind is splitting the file in 2, and keep one part in a cast or a database field and the other on the disk. Problem is, how can I tell Director to concatenate those 2 parts into 1, and tell him the type of the file/cast? Another is to use a binary xtra and tamper with the header of the file, however that requires the file to be written unprotected somewhere on the disk, not great and it doesn't help CD-ROM delivery.
