Hi List,

I have recently played around a bit with the Microsoft Script Control in
connection with director (windows only, of course). I have assembled a
little list with possiblities and sample code (rough, quick and dirty) under
http://dasdeck.de/staff/valentin/ScriptControl/

Most of the tasks described there, like reading/writing from/to files,
writing/reading from/to the registry, obtaining information about the
system, creating shortcuts or executing hidden applications, would otherwise
need an xtra. In adition to those tasks, the control could also be used to
extend the lingo space with the functions/methods of other languages, e.g.
mathematical, date/time, string or regular expression methods, in a similar
way as ActionScript does since dirMX.
I would like to know if anyone has used the control in projects before, and
I'm interested in how you estimate it's real life usefullness.
Maybe someone knows more about it's availability on different Windows
versions?
And any more ideas/proposals for using it?

Regards,
Valentin
