I'm having a vexing problem creating a miaw at runtime on Windows. The script I'm using runs fine in the _authoring_ environment on both Mac (Dir8, MacOS 9.2 in OSX shell) and Win (Dir8, Win2000P), and fine in a _projector_ on Mac, but not on Win. The offending line of code is:
thisWin.rect = anotherRect
where:
thisWin is a window object anotherRect is a rect
I can check and set all other window parameters except rect which generates the following error at runtime:
"Object expected
Script Error. Continue?"
Commenting out the line results in an app that runs fine, but cannot control where miaw's appear on the stage -- they all appear in the upper left corner without this value being set. Note that thisWin is acknowledged as both a window object, and having a rect property just prior to execution of this line of code. (Determined using an alert at runtime)
I wrote this script ages ago and it has never had this problem before. The _only_ thing that is unique to its implementation this time is that is part of a parent script, that is called by a series of objects to build windows for them. It used to reside in a movie script.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom Drapela
