How can I get something like this. I tried to calculate the spaces between a row and another and then add the missing spaces but I don't know why it doesn't work.
Don't use a Field cats member and don't use spaces, use a Text cast member and TABs.
Create the member.
Now enter some Text i.e.
Bla Bla (press Tab) Bla (press Tab) Bla (press Tab) Bla Bla Bla
You can now set the TAB stops ( on the Text Cast member editors ruler) to create the columns at the desired width.
When you use Lingo to "write" to the text member:
member("Text Member").line[1] = "Bla Bla" & TAB & "Bla" & TAB & "Bla" & TAB & "Bla Bla Bla"
member("Text Member").line[2] = "Paris" & TAB & "NO" & TAB & "Why Not" & TAB & "That's fine"
will cause the two lines to align on the Tab stops that you set up in your cast member.
Look at the "Formatting paragraphs" in the Director help and "Tabs" in the Lingo directory
