Chad, > Is there any way to make the back ground of a flash sprite > transparent if the flash sprite is set to direct to stage.
No. When a media type (Flash, QT, 3D, etc.) is set to render as Direct to Stage that item is not composited with Director's stage in the offscreen buffer, instead it's drawn directly into the window (not "window" as in MIAW but "window" as in application window) leading to enhanced performance. Unfortunately this also causes side effects, such as an inability to render as background transparent. If it's not compositing with the stage how can it know what background color(s) to use instead of its own? Thus you either go DTS and don't use bgtrans ink, or you go non-DTS and do use bgtrans ink. > I don't HAVE to set it direct to stage, but if I don't the > flash sprite will pause playback when ever the playhead in > director is on a go to frame loop in the director timeline. > > Any ideas or work arounds? I can import a SWF, put it on stage as either DTS or non-DTS and it will easily play while looping on a go to the frame loop. Something else must be going on in your movie that's preventing the SWF from playing normally when it's non-DTS. Unfortunately it's a bit difficult to speculate what might be causing this, sorry.
