Off the top of my head..
If you are able to modify the flash movies you're using, create a function
in each that switches it on and off, including the sound and whatever other
stuff you want to de/activate, and call it from Director. 

If you can't do that, you might be able to access the sound object directly
from Lingo - I'm not too sure about that, though.
