i have not used ldms in shockwave yet, but i know it's possible, and if you have
the whole control-script-functionality inside the ldm, there is no need for
download-status-checking (if it's not loaded yet, it won't produce any errors)

in the imaging case, i'm sure there is a more elegant way to detect the buttons
than comparing with a list of hundred rects, eg. matematically, if there is a
certain order, or with checking the pixelcolor of the pixel under the cursor
(maybe with a hidden "mask" image sprite with black background and a different
color for each button-rect - just a spontaneous idea ...) - the best way depends
on the characteristics of your buttons and the backgrouznd-image.
