Hello all,
I've been trying to fix some issues that we've been having on the Mac
with MIAWs with window masks.
First, we had crashes when we'd open or close a window, fairly random,
but also fairly frequent. I was able to find at least 2 causes for
this, one being if the image is invalid for whatever reason, then using
it as a window mask will cause a crash (this was fairly easily
reproducible). The other crash seemed much more random and not very
reproducible, but would happen if the window had a window mask and got
resized to something like, say, rect(-10, -10, -9, -9). (For whatever
it is worth, things on OS X seem to be far less stable than on Windows
in general with the number of crashes that I get in the projector. Is
this to be expected or typical?) (Are descriptions of crashes like this
useful to anyone?)
But I still have one remaining problem, and that is that some MIAWs
appear to be offset within the frame, when there's a non-solid mask in
place.
If I have a solid mask, then the content of the window looks correct and
is centered within the window.
If I have the correct mask, which is intended to mask off the border of
the window to give it the proper bevel appearance, then the window is
shifted downward and to the right by about 4-6 pixels, so that the mask
is offset from the window content and therefore looks like crap.
I've verified the mask is correct, that the elements of the mask are
being drawn in the same positions as the sprites in the MIAW, that
everything is positioned from 0,0 and has a positive position within the
MIAW.
This doesn't happen on Windows, where everything works (relatively)
okay. It also doesn't happen with all of our MIAW types, just half of
them. I can't find any discernible difference (so far) between those
which work and those which do not work.
Any idea or thoughts as to what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance,
- Bruce
