Something is fracked with Flash in general. In FlMX/OSX, I've had *static* text items sudden;y become dynamic, without warning, and then get "stuck" that way until I go back and reset them in author. Any change to anything else (and without any code being invoked anywhere to make any kind of difference) causes them to return to dynamic text again.


No reason whatsoever for it to happen. It just looks like something gets corrupted or damaged or a bit is toggled or *something* and then I have to go back in and fix it.

You are right that Flash isn't as stable as one might wish. Why are you not either using OSControls or Director's built-in #text or #field members to make your popups? Either option would probably hurt a hell of a lot less than collecting some third-party MC by some unknown author and loading your Director playback with the Flash Xtra...
