I would advice you to use lingo's own net options. What you need to do is to send data to the php script by using net lingo.
Now you can use php to link your app to a mySQL database. I did some thing similar by using php. (http://olivier.hobba.nl/gallery_applications.php and click on Nettool). If you look at http://www.shocknet.org.uk/index.asp you will find everything you need.
