Not sure how old you are, but this xtra has been a "standard" for some time now. Yes, it completely opens new doors for Director development.
Just be careful not to use them in projects which are supposed to have custom interfaces... it gets tempting sometimes... so easy just to throw in a scroller, progress bar, whatever.
The amazing part is when you build a project, and then look at it on other platforms. So cool.
