One other thing I forgot to mention. Again it's not an issue running them side-by-side (I think it's because everything is self-contained i.e. no conflicting DLLs in the Windows System folder) but if you uninstall one of the Director versions it will kill all file associations and icons dead.
I personally got around that by exporting those registry entries every time I installed a version to seperate files. Then if you find your entries missing post-uninstall just merge one of the files back into the registry to reinstate associates for that particular Director version.
