You can pretty much safely assume any PC running windows is capable of
playing .avi files. If you're unsure, try using baVersion("vfw").

Again, baVersion("qt3") returns a string like "4.1.2" to help you determine
what you need. It may return a different answer than QuicktimeVersion() as
well.
