Sorry to bring up the F word!

I import some Flash into most of my Director kiosk and CD-rom projects.
I have begun using Flash 5 and assume it will be importable in some future
upgrade of Director. Flash's "Action Scripting" in Version 5 is based on
JavaScript and inherits practically nothing from Lingo. It is based on the
ECMA-262 specification and is much more complete than version 4. Scripting
in Flash 5 can be done in a "text editor" style. The documentation is pretty
thin, and has some errors.

Is there a group somewhere which is focusing on both Lingo and Action
script?

My desire is to focus on scripting issues, with an emphasis on Flash and
Director as they relate to one another. For instance: translating a lingo
handler into an Action Script function. This would be helpful for
reinterpreting a Director kiosk or CD-rom into a flash based web project.
(This is something I have been doing quite a bit in the last six months, now
that the average user has a flash plugin.)

Would this group consider taking on postings of this nature?
If it is beyond the scope of this group, is anyone aware of such an
undertaking? Is there anyone interested in this topic?

I feel one way to keep Director alive is to make Flashers aware of the
compatibility of these two programs.
I was a member of a "motion graphics" focus group last week. All of the
other members work in AfterEffects, Photoshop, and Flash. I felt like an
alien when I was pointing out the benefits of Director. It was as if they
thought it was something from a previous decade.
