There may be, but since Microsoft has changed DirectShow around so much (it
used to be called ActiveMovie) and because I don't have direct access to
all 5 of their operating systems to dig through all the registry entries, I
trust the isDirectShowInstalled() method.

I actually copied that from the online help at:
http://xtras.tabuleiro.com/products/direct/help/index.htm
It may not be that easy to find in the docs. I seem to recall asking a
similar question of Tabuleiro.com before purchasing it here. The on line
support is outstanding.

Well, it would take more than that to ruin my day, but it is generally
frowned upon and considered bad netiquette. Whew, I can relax now. ;-)

Please do.

Yes. It's almost a reflex for me to hit the delete key when a message
appears in HTML

I think you'll find DirectMedia well worth the purchase. Even if you don't
convince this particular client (and I don't see how they wouldn't be
convinced), it's a very reliable Xtra. They've been giving us Windows users
outstanding MPEG playback through Director since the days of XObjects and
Win3.1. I highly recommend their products.
