DirectXtras is pleased to announce a new cross platform version (2.0)
of DirectFTP Xtra.

About DirectFTP Xtra:
---------------------

DirectFTP is a cross platform (Windows and MacOS), easy to use Scripting
Xtra for Macromedia Director, Authorware and Shockwave, which provides
implementation of the FTP protocol.

Using DirectFTP Xtra, Director, Authorware and Shockwave applications
can log into an FTP server, get directory listings and files
information, retrieve files, upload files and perform other file and
directory operations, such as create, move, rename, append and delete
file or directory.

DirectFTP Xtra is available for Director 5 and above, Authorware
4 and above, and is compatible with Windows 2000, 9X, NT and
MacOS (PPC).

New in version 2.0:
-------------------

- DirectFTP Xtra is now available for both Windows and MacOS operating
systems.

- The Xtra was marked as safe, so it can be used with Shockwave 7
or later and when safety features in Director are turned on.
An auto-downloadable Shockwave safe package is available as well.

- New functions for downloading text files into string variables and
uploading string variables into text files, bypassing the local file
system.

- Improved proxy servers support.

A fully functional evaluation version of DirectFTP Xtra can be
downloaded from our Web site: http://www.directxtras.com/ .

The trial version includes documentation and a sample Director movie
that utilizes the Xtra by implementing a basic FTP client application.

You can use it to log into an FTP server, browse remote and local
directories, upload and download file(s), execute FTP commands and
much more.

We encourage interested developers to download the trial version
and look forward to your comments, suggestions, ideas and any questions
you might have.

Best Regards,
