The technical sites say to use Shockwave on the PC (with the appropriate
DLLs in position in the same directory as the executable projector) to
make the presentation open faster. Use Standard on the Mac.
I'd like to add another question to this thread. I've followed that
advice -- using the Shockwave mode while making a projector -- to the
letter, but can't make it work. It works fine in Standard mode, which
takes about 15 seconds to launch from a CD-ROM.
In anticipation of questions -- I've turned off embedding of Xtras in
the movie while in authoring mode, then placed a folder titled Xtras in
the same directory (typically the root directory) with the Xtras
required, hand picked from the Xtras folder in the Director application
folder. I've also placed the DLLs in position, but can't get it to run.
Anyone with experience in this area?
