Thanks, Bhakti--I thought of that, too, and it seems to make the most 
sense. I tried slowing the frame rate down, and it didn't make any 
difference--it probably wouldn't anyway since it all happens in an 
exitFrame handler.

The weird part is that it works without the puts in a projector, but not 
the authoring environment or Shockwave. Since a projector is innately 
faster, that should give us some clue, but I don't know what it is.
