Greetings Conrad I think I had the same problem about a year ago. Sounds were getting clipped just before they were completely played. I'm pretty sure I only had the problem on the first edition of Windows 98. I corrected it with the following line of code, which is located in the startMovie handler of the stub projector: set the soundDevice = "MacroMix" (It may be that Director defaults to DirectSound - which may be what's giving Win98 a hard time.) I no longer recall who gave me the tip, but it was more than likely someone from the list. Hope this helps, eh Christopher Schmidt >Does anyone know why sound files in channel 1 or 2 would sometimes >not work or get cut off early on laptops and on desktop Windows 98 >Platforms?
