Gordon,

I don't know if you're experiencing that same problem as me, but here's what
I've got. I have several .WAV files that I'm playing in a presentation. The
audios play fine the first time through, thereafter it does not work. In
fact, I think it stops working after the second audio plays. I'm issuing a
sound.fadeOut command if the clicks a navigation button before the sound
stops. I'm also playing the sound through the new Director 8 sound object
(sound.play()). this problem does not occur on desktop systems (including
IBM), but does occur on an IBM laptop and a Dell laptop.

Here are a few things I'll be trying this weekend: calling sound stop after
the fadeOut completes, setting the volume back to the default level after
the sound.fadeOut completes. Don't know if that'll work but I'll keep the
list posted. Or if anyone else has had this problem and already knows the
fix, please enlighten us.
