Hi Brian,
For grouping at author time, you can make the sprites into a film loop.
Copy them from the Stage or the Score window, paste them in the Cast
Window, then drag the new film loop back onto the Stage. You can edit
the film loop by copying it from the Cast window and pasting it into the
Score (note the difference between drag-and-drop and copy-and-paste when
moving a film loop from the Cast window to the Score).
For grouping at run time, you can use a behavior such as Darrel Plant's
"Multiple Sprite Drag" behavior which appears in the Animation >
Interactive Library Palette.
