"Save" is one of the most dangerous computer conventions.
When you explicitly 'delete' something you're often prompted if you
are certain that you want to delete information, but when you 'save'
it just happens. As your story shows 'saving' can easily mean
'deleting', so where's the "are you sure about this" prompt?
What can we do? ;-)
