What kind of graphics do you use???
--> the deeper the color depth the slower the animation
Do you control the animations by lingo or by tweening?
--> lingo is faster.
Do you open up a miaw for your several applications???
Have you used the RAM-Inspector to find out when and where
the problems occur?

Betreff: <lingo-l> Problems with buttons and Animations....
Hi guys,
I am working on a CBT for a graphics product like Adobe Photoshop. Now the
animations/illustrations consist of showing the process(just like Director
Help Movies).
And the Buttons in the COntrol Panel consist of :
1. GLossary (which goes to GLossary.dir)
2. Bookmark (which opens a DropDown List where the user can add his
favorites)
3. Print (which prints the text related to the process currently showing)
4. Notepad (which allows the user to make notes)
5. TOC (which goes to MainMenu.dir)
6. NEXT/PREVIOUS (which goes to next/previous marker or subsection)
7. Percentage Course Complete
8. Exit
The scripts used are simple behaviors written by me.
For implementing Bookmarks facility, I have used the built-in DropDown List
behavior in D7, with a ADD Bookmark script written by me.
Rest of the scripts use Lists heavily (both Linear and Property). The data
is stored in text files on the hard Disk.
Now the entire stuff has become v. slow. the animations are slow when button
scripts are processed and the buttons work terribly when the animations are
going on...
I have no clue as to why this is happening!!
Please help me with this as my deadline is fast approaching.
ANy help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance..
Deepak
