You might also try importing PNG32 images with an alpha channel

Another thing to remember is the anti-aliasing halo. When using the
background transparent ink effect, only a pure-background-color pixel
will become transparent. So, if you need anti-aliased edges, etc.,
consider adding the native Photoshop file format (easiest, no save as
required), or any other file format that supports alpha channels, to your
list. To bring in multiple layers, use the awesome PhotoCaster Xtra.
If you don't want to carry the weight of alpha channels (file size,
performance) make sure your GIF files have aliased edges. GIF is best for
solids, JPEG is best for continuous tones.
(Man, I can't tell you how many times I have plugged the PhotoCaster
Xtra. Without exaggeration, considering tradeshows, magazines, books,
lists, etc., multiple tens of thousands of people have heard/read me rave
about this product!)
