Authorware is & was supposedly better for developing training applications,
but I think that is only really true back in the days before behaviours etc.
were introduced into Director. I find Authorware more complex structurally
as it uses 'icons' in a flow like way using decision trees to determine a
users route meaning it can use a lot less programming than Director and is
exceptionally good for connecting with SQL databases and ActiveX controls,
but now that Director has many third party xtras to support these functions
anyway I would say Director is overall a much better tool for all areas of
web/multimedia/application development.
