Good point Kurt. It sounds like browserName works differently on Mac and
Win. On my Win98 setup browserName is set based on my default browser
settings in the registry. I'm not sure how it works on the Mac since I don't
have one. According to the gotoNetPage docs (with D7) "the command tries to
launch the preferred browser set with the Network Preferences dialog box or
broswerName command. If neither has been used to set the preferred browser,
the gotoNetPage command attempts to find a browser on the computer."
Regardless of all of this. My original point, and regarding the original
topic of the thread, was that the browser was opening the email program and
it had nothing to do with the users default email app settings. The fact
that baOpenURL() works correctly leads me to believe that this is an issue
with browserName on the Mac. To the original poster Paul, I would say go
with Buddy API as a solution. You can use two functions for free, and as
others on this list have said before, you will soon realize how great it is
and get the full version. I think the url is www.mods.com.au
