Hi there,
I am authoring using Flash 4 assets in a D7.02 movie. I need to control the
frame that the flash asset is currently displaying as well as the visibles
of some movieclips within the Flash asset.
The way I have done this is to have each frame of the flash asset call a
framescript which checks against some variables (set from Director) this
will then set the visible of the movieclip as appropriate.
The way I control the frame is by having my frame script in Director check
against the current frame of the flash asset and then tell it to go to the
appropriate frame (currentframe +1, -1 or +0).
My problem is essentially that if the Flash asset needs to loop in the same
frame for a while (i.e. Director tells it to go to the same frame that it is
currently in), the action script for that frame does not get called. If the
script doesn't get called then the variables won't be interrogated and any
change in the visible of a movieclip will not happen!
So my question is; how can I force a Flash asset to call a labelled action
script from Director?
Also can anyone recommend a good web resource for using Flash in the
Director environment (the Macromedia site seems very poor to me)?
If I haven't explained myself clearly feel free to ask for clarification.
Thanks.
