I dunno, but I think the logic is twisted in that code. Try this one....and as far as
crashes go, its probably bcoz of a corrupt installation of one of your apps(Acrobat,
Director, BudAPI or the PDF file itself). And when it works, make sure to check it
from a projector. Never know what problems that might raise.
The code is:

set ok = baOpenFile("pdfs/a.pdf", "maximised")
if ok = 31 then alert ("Install adobe acrobat")
end

I tried with baOpenFile function but i want to check whether any application is
associated with pdf file so that it can be opened. This function returns 31 when there
is no application associated with the given filename.
