Ok, math wizards--this is more fun than the Super Bowl, and it can be
programmed (mostly) in Lingo.
1. What's the next higher number that follows this pattern:
1^1 + 3^2 + 3^3 = 135
2. What's a number that fits this formula:
a^3 + b^3 + c^3 = x
where x is a 3-digit number xyz and
x^3 + y^3 + z^3 = abc.
Note: xyz and abc represent 3-digit integers, not x*y*z and a*b*c--rather,
each letter represents an integer. e.g., a=1, b=2, c=3, abc=123. Or put
another way, take the sum of the cubes of the digits of a number, and then
the sum of the cubes of the digits of that sum gives you the three digits
of the original number.
Have fun :-)
Cordially,
Kerry Thompson
