Something I've tried with moderate success:
- Create an internal cast lib (or libs)
- Drag & drop from the external cast to the new internal(s)
- Remove the external(s)
- Create new external libs in the order you want them
- Drag & drop from the internals to the new externals.
This method is fraught with peril, though. If your movie depends on cast
position, you have to be careful to preserve empty cast members. That means
you can't select all, then drag and drop.
Even if you're not depending on cast order, selecting all, then dragging
and dropping from one library to another sometimes screws up score
references. The only semi-reliable method I've found is to drag and drop
one at a time.
